Shutterfly is amazing for bloggers!

Did you know that you can get 50 free Christmas cards from Shutterfly just for blogging about it? Well, here I go!

I do love Shutterfly. I actually keep every single photo that I take on there, use it to print them and choose photos for my annual photo book from there. So it’s a no brainer to use Shutterfly for my Christmas cards every year! The photos are already there and it’s a great quality product.

Last year I thought I’d be sneaky. I found a promo code for some free cards. Well, guess what – you get what you pay for! I printed them, had them sent to me and they were AWFUL! So that’s what got handed out to Paul’s coworkers and I reordered some from Shutterfly!

They’re stylish, they’re easy to use and they come in many styles. My only complaint is that there are no purely blank cards for those of us who like to design our own, like 2008’s black and white Adam looking intently at a Christmas ornament.

Here’s a sneak peek of this year’s card. At least, I think that’s the one. We'll see how it works when I add photos. And I’ve been working all year on Paul’s annual family calendar. And they’re perfect for thank you cards too:

I hope those links work. I’m still new to this blogging thing, so I’m still learning.

We have a Christmas!

Last year, Adam loved driving around to look at the shiny. Shiny was code for Christmas lights. He'd say "look at the shiny!" and when we'd drive past the house, he'd say "more shiny please!"

This year it's Christmas trees. But of course he doesn't get the tree part, he calls it a Christmas. At work last week they were decorating the tree and he leaned in and whispered, "I like that Christmas." And in our house he wants me to turn on the lights on  the Christmas.

The Heated Cat Cup

One of our cat-owning blog friends had a heated cat cup for her cat. I always thought that having a heated cat cup for your cat to sleep in meant that you had more money than you knew what to do with. But I can now say that we own not one, but two, cat beds!

Admittedly it's to prevent cruelty to animal charges because Bitey and Lucy are now banished to the sunroom because of their three-year peeing spree. With the temperatures dropping, it seemed only fair to give them some heat source in the sunroom.

All day yesterday I peeked out to see if Lucy was in the cup. She's the cold one, always looking to climb into covers and stretch out in front of a heat source. I looked out, saw ears in the cup and thought "finally Lucy!" Then I realized it was Bitey. Lucy was curled up BESIDE her cup. Let's hope she figures it out and that I didn't waste $80 for the cold cat to be cold!

The Filter

My mom has no filter. Watching Sesame Street with Adam, she said "wow, that guy's ugly!" When shot a look by Paul, she tried to recover. "I mean his hair. Look at his hair - yuck. He has ugly hair."

So now every time we watch that part Adam makes me come in and see the "gugly" guy with the hair that's "YUCK." I know kids do learn to insult people, but it's usually not due to a grandparent's influence!
